    Hey guys!

    So, I haven't been checking the community as often as I should be, lol, but I'd like to welcome all the new people who've joined. ^_^.

    So, mikenno's post gave me an idea. Whether it's good or bad, I don't know.

    Everyone please comment this saying a little bit about yourself and what kind of writing or art you produce. It can be as long or as short as you want.

    I'll start.

    My name is Emilie. I'm 16 and live in Florida. I've been writing since about sixth grade or so. I started a novel in seventh grade, worked on it up through ninth, but lost the files when my computer crashed. I have several short stories I wrote while in middle school, but more recently, most of my work has consisted of free-verse poetry. I take some degree of interest in literary theory and criticism, although a lot of what I've been taught in that respect strikes me as rather restrictive. Poets and writers that are heavily influential on my work are Charles Baudelaire, Gerard de Nerval, TS Eliot (regrettably, but one cannot deny the value of his work, fascist though he was), Hart Crane, Robert Duncan, and HP Lovecraft. My favorite artists are Salvador Dali, Titian, Gustav Klimpt, and Gustave Doré. My favorite bands are Nine Inch Nails and VNV Nation.

mikenno @ 08:59 pm: Hi. I'd like to introduce myself briefly. My penname is Mikenno, real name Kris. I'm 19; I enjoyed writing since I was a young child and never thought I'd amount to anything in the area but now I love it more than I ever imagined.

As of lately, I've been in a terrible slump what with work and trying to move across the country but I'm trying my hardest. I'm hoping by joining this small but growing community that I may be able to find my way out.

That said, this is something short I wrote last night around 7:00 AM just before I went to sleep. XD I didn't navigate for whatever typos I may have made so please bear with laziness.
